I found Doug's next car and it meets (almost) all of his requirments! It is a 6 door Ford F-750 Superduty!
He wanted something to resell. Someone will want this beast.
He wanted something costing between $40,000-$50,000. This is $45,000.
He doesn't have a garage. Perfect! This will NOT fit in a garage.
He wanted something interesting. I don't know how much more interesting a car can get. Diesel. Matte paint. Smoke stacks. Six doors.
A link. Here !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! .
Manual transmission. Sorry about that... but you did buy a CTS-V with an auto, so...
So, about the truck. It is a custom 2004 Ford F-750 Superduty. It has a Cat C-7 diesel engine with a little under 300,000 miles on it (not a lot for a big truck though). It is full of lights; 20 on the roof alone! It also includes a train horn and a public address system.

That is actaully a good question... I can tell that it has a normal passenger car license plate on it.. but this is Florida...

I am pretty sure if it is >10,000 lbs you need a CDL of some type. My F350 was 7,200 lbs so im sure this is close to 10k if not over.

This isn't something you so much drive as you recruit a crew for.
![]() 12/12/2013 at 12:11 |

Umm... according to Google... it weighs around 30,000 lbs!!!!!!!!!!!!

Whomsoever is man enough, of highwayfaring habits, and suitably slow of mind or body so as to avoid the press gangs!
Sharpen the harpoons! Lash the boats to the bed! We've a white whale to send to Hell!

Depends on your state, in NY CDL is only required for > 25,999lb vehicles OR if they have Airbrakes OR are greater than a certain (10?) number of passengers.
So this would be G2G in NY.

I would actually love to see someone attempt to pilot this around NYC ( I know you are speaking of NY state in general, just saying)

It could be done, its shorter than most Box Trucks that do deliveries in the city, but not as nimble as the Isuzu Forward Controls.
It would keep the cabs at bay with its Damage Factor,

26,000 GVW before you need a CDL.

Word to the wise: if you're moving, and renting a truck, make darn sure your insurance will cover you.
I forget the specifics, but AFTER renting a 26' truck, and declining the exorbitant insurance they offer, I came to find out that my regular insurance excluded large vehicles. It may have been 10K-26K lbs, or something else, but I learned too late that I was pretty much completely exposed. Thankfully, I made no mistakes that would have required testing that.
